Stadiums are typically roofless, and used primarily for sporting events in the United States. I wanted to build a viz that shows the locations, capacities, and types of stadiums throughout the country, along with a timeline of when they were built.
To create this Tableau Viz I manually geocoded a total of 243 United States Stadiums from Wikipedia. This list includes stadiums that have seating capacities of 18,000 or more.
The Wikipedia list did not contain stadium address or any geographical latitude/longitude information so I utilized Google Maps to obtain this information for all records. You can download the complete dataset for this visualization here.
